Today HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji met Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji in New Delhi along with Dr. Rameswar Rao and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and extended invitation to participate in Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi celebrations and Samatha Snanam (holy bath during Krushna pushkaram)

His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji met with Hon’ble Prime Minister with the following agenda:

To invite honorable Prime Minister Modi ji for Statue of Equality inauguration next year in November
Invite Modi ji to Samatha Snanam being conducted during Krishna Pushkaras on Aug 19th, 2016

1. Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Celebrations

Giving an introduction about the Statue of Equality project to the PM, HH Swamiji showed the walk-thru of the project. Also, to commemorate the millennium birth celebrations of Ramanujacharya, HH Swamiji proposed the following:

a.Name the national high road between Delhi and Kashmir after Bhagavad Ramanuja as ‘Ramanujacharya National Highway’.

Bhagavad Ramanuja went to the library ‘Saraswathi Bhandar’ in Kashmir to read Bhodhayana’s commentary on Bramha Suthras and authored the commentary on Brahma Suthras. This text also served as an inspiration and foundation for writing other philosophical texts during his lifetime. Goddess Sarawasti was so impressed with Ramanuja’s knowledge that She gave him a title of ‘ Bhashyakara’ and gifted him a small idol of Lord Hayagriva. After that, He revolutionized the world with Bhakthi Movement.

With this background about Ramanuja’s travel to Kashmir from Delhi, His Holiness put forth the proposal to honorable Prime Minister to name the National Highway from Delhi to Kashmir after Ramanujacharya and call it ‘Ramanujacharya National Highway’.

b. Release a coin of Rs. 1000

c. Attend the inauguration of Statue of Equality which might be in November 2017

2. Samatha Snanam

Ramanujacharya Swamy was really moved by the neglected and downtrodden people, strived for EQUALITY and brought them into the mainstream of the society. With these actions, the compassionate nature of Ramanujacharya was experienced by the whole world. He gifted the society with the perspective on how to live harmoniously. The lineage of these people who were influenced and followed Ramanujacharya continue to preserve and practice the Vaishnava philosophy even till today, including in naming their children. This commitment is still continuing irrespective of various influences that continue to allure them away from the path of Vedic culture. By encouraging them more we can build their confidence to grow further since they are still at a low standard of living.

Hence HH Swamiji is planning a Samatha Snanam program – a holy dip in the Krishna river during pushkaras to provide them moral support on August 19th, 2016. The program will start off with a Sankalpam from 6 am to 7 am. From 10 am various elders will give them messages lasting till 5 pm. About 1 lakh people are expected to participate.

HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji invited the Honorable Prime Minister to attend the program and said that “We are not aware of any protocol that needs to be followed but would like Prime Minister’s presence as it will be a huge morale and confidence booster to the people.” Prime Minister Modiji was very pleased with the intent of the program. Modi ji replied that there are two types of leaders one who follow protocol and others who just follow the right “call”. He jovially said that he belonged to the second category.

Modi ji also enquired with interest about Bhagavad Ramanuja’s history and how he drove positive changes in the society including the Goshtipurna incident. He also asked if people of other religious beliefs will accept this philosophy. Swamiji conveyed the story of how Ramanujacharya Swamy at Melkote, Karnataka gave status to Bibi Nachiyar, a Muslim girl on par with Mother Lakshmi, and are offering prayers to her. Ramanujacharya believed in giving respect to people based on their knowledge and practices and not based on their birth or religion they were born into.

Thus concluded the 40 minutes meeting with Modi ji. He spent about 40 minutes with His Holiness discussing all these facts and was really engaged and interested in the discussion though the allocated time originally was just 15 minutes !!!

Updates on Statue Of Equality

Dear Devotees!

It is already 2016! The 1000 year birth anniversary of Sri Ramanujacharya is just 18 months away!

The plan for Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi was changed twice, to suit the needs of future requirements. Now, the final design is complete, and a walk-thru video is being created to explain the final plan. It will be released in 15 days, along with new details and information to bring all of you up to speed and keep you updated.

The project has been divided into 3 phases:

Phase 1 – Dedicating Ramanuja Statue to the world in 2017

Phase 2 – Construction of Divya Desams

Phase 3 – Adding technology to depict inspiring historic incidents from life of Ramanujacharya

Donations:

Initially, an announcement was made inviting all devotees to offer their one month’s salary for the project. Their names will be incorporated into the the design of the project in the designated area.

In addition, we have also decided to offer another way for devotees to contribute to the construction of the statue. It was calculated that each square inch of Ramanujacharya’s statue is worth Rs. 1,16,000.

All who are interested may also contribute in this manner.

Current Proceedings:

The Chinese manufacturing company responsible for the construction of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Statue has created a prototype, to scale of 1/10th of the original. The model was inspected by HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, Dr. Rameswar Rao garu and the rest of the Sahasrabdi team at the end of October, 2015. A total of 14 corrections were noted, addressed, and rectified.

For the initial construction, and to complete the first milestone, a total of Rs. 14.4 crores was sent to the company in November 2015.
Now it is time for the second milestone: finish the actual construction of the Divine Statue, worth another 14.4 crores. The company has promised to deliver the material for erection starting from July 2016 in Shamshabad, and finish the installation by March/April 2017.
Currently, HH Ahobila Jeeyar Swami is touring the United States. Many devotees are showing interest and enthusiasm in promoting the project. As part of the awareness and fundraising program, JET Dallas coordinators have planned the ‘Raganjali’ program in September 2016, for which JET USA is making all the required arrangements. Approximately 1000 children and adults are putting in considerable effort to sing the praises of Sri Ramanujacharya in the form of 15 to 20 songs. Plans are being made to expand the event to include participation for many other organizations. Further details will soon be announced by JET USA and VT SEVA.

So, it is high time to make arrangements before the arrival of the materials for Sri Ramanujacharya’s statue in Sri Ram Nagar.

What needs to be done before the arrival?

Construction of the Bhadrapeetam: The platform on which the Lotus and Sri Ramanujacharya will sit upon must be constructed, and made ready for the installation by July.
Statistics: The height of the Bhadrapeetam is 57 feet, with 1.5 lakh square feet area. It will also display exhibits depicting the life history of Sri Ramanujacharya. The estimated cost to construct the peetam is Rs.30 crores.

The Action Plan:

It is high time for all interested devotees to participate in and promote this divine project. Any amount donated now will directly go into the construction and erection of Sri Ramanuja’s Statue. We invite the attention of all devotees to make use of the time in the best way possible. We know there are many people who are interested, if awareness is brought to them. But there is a requirement of one to take lead, reach them and spread the word! Let us all make the best use of the time available and contribute to the Statue of Equality.

HERE IS A GREAT NEWS ! THE STATUE OF EQUALITY NEGOTIATIONS WERE FINALISED AND DOCUMENTS WERE SIGNED ! .The scope of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Project has been finalized and vendors across the world were sought who make the tallest Statues. CHINA is the pioneer in making such Statues. Experts in Architecture, Engineering etc., areas from our end started visiting China. Initially there was only one Company AEROSUN CORPORATION, under their brand “COSIC”
was an expert in that field. During initial interactions, they were not serious about our project. Later they gave a few details. After 3 – 4 visits they understood the seriousness and came up with quotations which were too high ( Approximately Rs. 130 crores + Taxes).

Later a few more companies came up with their proposals to make the Statue. It took a little time to understand & assess the details. Negotiations started. One Indian company also entered the race. All the companies were invited for personal talks to Hyderabad. They had meetings and spot visits on 12th, 13th & 14th of this month August 2015. After due deliberations the 1st Company Aerosun was blessed and confirmed with the orders for making The Statue Of Equality.

Sriman Dr. J. Rameswara Rao, The Chairman of JIVA & Myhome Group of Industries signed on behalf of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi. Mr.MI ZHAO HUA, General Manager of Aerosun Corporation Art Statue Sub-Company signed from their end. A General Manager of a Company in China is like a Chairman or Head of Some Organisation. He came with a team of 6 experts.

Day in and out the details were worked out by both the teams and finally the MoU was signed at about 4.10 pm on this day the 14th of August, 2015.

HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji went to My Home Hub on 13th October 2014 to meet the team working on Statue Of Equality Project ( Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi). HH discussed the progress with the team, reviewed all the designs and finalized them. There was a discussion on idol design later. Team came up with the next steps to be done to meet the target. The finalized plan will be shortly released in form of video, photos and posters. HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji gave mangalasasanams to Sriman Rameshwar Rao garu and family and left for JIVA.

HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and team went to My Home Hub Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi office for monthly meeting. In the meeting, the architect Sriman Anand Sai, temple architect Sriman Prasad and team lead Sriman Ramesh Mantha reviewed and discussed about Ramanuja drawings and Statue of Equality plans. Dr.Rameshwar reviewed the status and came up with an action plan.

Anand Sai ji, Prasad ji will be visiting a few divya desams to construct the 108 temples around the Statue of Equality. Anand Sai ji will be visiting different countries to study the huge constructions in those places. Meeting concluded with HH mangalasasanams to all.
