Today at 11:15am, ‘Jala Pavitram’ was raised high at the top edge of the ‘Tridandam’ signifying the purity of each act done through the hands of a Yathi / Sannyasi. ‘Jala Pavitram’ is a square shaped white coloured cloth. The ‘Statue of Equality’, Bhagavad Ramanujacharya – holds a Tridandam of weight 56 tonnes and a Jala Pavitram of weight 6 tonnes!

A few references of ‘Jala Pavitram’ from Vedic scriptures exclusively for our readers. Please note that the English text is not the meaning of the sloka entirely, but they are only stating facts of the Jala Pavitram.

మానసం వాచికం వాపి కాయికం చ విచక్షణః అగ్నిర్దేవతా గాయత్రీఛందః
ఇతి మంత్రేణాలాబు (దారు) పాత్రం గ్నహ్ణీయాత్ ఖిక్షుకోత్తమః జల పవిత్రం గ్నహ్ణీయాత్ !!

Jala Pavitram is one of the three key essentials for a sannyasi (sath + nyasamu = one who has given up everything at the feet of Supreme). The remaining two essentials are Tridandamu (a flag pole representing the essence of Vedic wisdom) and Kasayamu (a saffron coloured cotton cloth to wear representing selfless and sacrificial attitude)

మంత్రేచమనాది సంధ్యోపాసనం పూర్వవత్!
ఆచమనాదిషు పంచసు జలపవిత్రస్య సంబంధః!

During every prayer to the source of the power to Sun, (Sandhya vandanam) – ‘Jala Pavitram’ will be used to perform the offering of water as a token of gratitude. It is to be used during ‘Pranayama’ after bath.

స తేన ఆచమనం కుర్యాత్ మార్జనం తర్పణం తథా!
ఉపస్థానం సహస్రాంశోః కుండికాయాశ్శపూరణమ్!!

The top thread of the Jala Pavitram is to be hooked to the edge of the Tridandam while chanting Pranavam (the O:M)

సదా జలపవిత్రేణ మార్జనా చామ తర్పణమ్!

The bottom thread of Jala Pavitram is to be tied to the edge of the Tridandam while meditating upon the meaning of the Pranavam.

As part of Statue of Equality project phase 1 – The ‘Dhyana Mandapam’ will contain Swarna Murthi of Bhagavad Ramanujacharya. This murthi will serve as a way to offer gratitude through daily prayer, nitya aaradhana. The presence of the Swarna Murthi is going to make the Dhyana Mandapam an extremely vibrant, pious and a perfect place for instituting inward enrichment!

On the 23rd of October, Bhagavad Ramanujacharya statue appeared in full, as the final part was aligned and fixed. It was a proud moment for millions of people across the world who are enjoying the gift of an extremely rich knowledge and matchless compassion through the teachings of the great practitioner of Vedic science.

As we all know, Sri Ramanujacharya not only revealed the right essence of Vedic science as theory but also spread, practiced and applied all the learnt knowledge in uplifting social stature of many downtrodden and under-privileged sects of people.

The 162 Feet Tridandam Erection Process Begins –An Event of Great Significance!

Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami visited the site of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi today to pay his respects to the ‘Tridandam’ that is ready to be erected. Sri Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami, Sri Devanatha Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami, esteemed scholar Sri Krishnamacharya Swami, the Chief Architect Sriman Prasad Garu, Engineers from My Home Group and AEROSUN, many other dignitaries, craftsmen and construction workers were all present to grace this occasion.

Key elements of the ‘Tridandam’ include:

  • The ‘Tridandam’ is constructed in 8 parts, each weighing about 7 tonnes
  • The length of the ‘Tridandam’ is 162 feet
  • It will be positioned from the feet of the statue hanging onto the shoulder and raising above the head by 27 feet
  • The ‘jalapavithram’ will be installed on the top edge of the ‘Tridandam’ and weighs around 6 tonnes

This great event – ‘Erecting the Tridandam’ is aimed to be complete by the first week of Nov’2017.

After offering a prayer before beginning the erection process, yummy sweets (Laddu) were distributed as a mark of happiness in getting this dream come true for lakhs of promoters of Equality, for millions of followers of Ramanuja Acharya!

What does it signify?

From the discourses of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami, the Tridandam shows what its owner understands and practices as the essence of Vedic scriptures. The ‘Tridandam’ carried by Ramanuja Acharya indicates that there are ‘Three’ entities named ‘Supreme Power(God)’, ‘The Souls(we)’ and ‘The Nature(prakruthi)’. The power of the Supreme entity exists within the souls and nature. It governs and binds the existence. This Supreme Power is the one that is common to all that exists. And hence,Ramanuja Acharya saw everyone as ‘Equals’.

Thus, the Statue of Equality site at Sri Ram Nagar is being shaped up to guide everyone to be treated with respect, equal and with a connection of the strong binding force – the Supreme Power.

On 18-09-2017, Prajna students presented the basics of Vedic scriptures to the Parliament of Victoria. Several dignitaries including Speakers of both the houses of Parliament, Finance and Multicultural Minister, Leader of the Opposition etc. were thrilled to watch the children speak about values that govern harmony and peace using Vedic knowledge as the basis. The children cordially invited everyone to the Inauguration ceremony of 216 feet of Ramanujacharya at Sri Ram Nagar, Jiva, Hyderabad which is planned in the month of April 2018. Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji will be present to grace the occasion.

The children thanked Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami who is the true icon of Vedic wisdom and an epitome of compassion. JET Australia has been making huge contribution towards several social causes and spreading the word of the great seer and icon of true humanity, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami!

It is a mark of our identity and our rich heritage! It is a mark of the beautiful path laid by Bhagavad Ramanuja that lakhs of people are now travelling in. It is the project of every single individual who has travelling in the path that is filled with compassion for everyone.

An ‘Equality’ that Ramanuja propagated 1000 years ago at the root level is a need of the hour! With so many atrocities, so much violence, misguided youth and lack of right perspective – this project will serve as the answer for everything!

Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami visited the Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi site with so much enthusiasm, keen eye into details, and devotion towards this great deed. After spending an hour observing the work in progress, Sri Swamiji gave valuable suggestions and feedback to enrich the existing work in the below areas:

  • Ornamentation of 36 Royal Elephants Save & Exit
  • Bhagavad Ramanuja’s sacred thread, the Yagnopavitham
  • Bhagavad Ramanuja’s compassion filled Vakshasthalam and the respected Feet
