When it comes to temple architecture in South Bharath (India), the Vima:na Go:pura (structure over inner sanctum) is a beautiful key element. At the upcoming ‘Statue of Equality’, we will see 108 beautiful Vi:mana Go:pura:s signifying the Deity of each of those 108 temples using the intricate architectural skill of our artisans.

Out of the 108 Vima:na Go:pura:s, 12 of them are complete. Another 4 are more than 80% complete and 1 has started.

Ramanujacharya had shared immense knowledge about the true nature of a soul (ourselves), the nature, and the core cause of our existence in these bodies. We say, ‘thank you’ to someone who helped us by loaning money at the time of a need, or sharing information that is crucial for our task, or anything small or big.

For someone who shared the knowledge of ‘who we are’ and ‘what our ultimate purpose is’, what can we offer as a ‘thank you’? We can only lead life accordingly and spread his word. He spent his entire lifetime living righteously driven by ultimate knowledge of the self! If we follow his lead, it will not only benefit the human kind, but the entire nature will blossom back with right spirit.

Ramanujacharya’s life history depicts this depth of a true Vaishnava that goes beyond what   this bhajan conveys. Every single incident in His life history is a clear mark of all such great virtues   and  more! We should be proud to have Statue of Equality being dedicated to such principled soul.   His wisdom is a gateway to liberation not from only pain of the physical body – but also from flaws in   intellect, ill health of mind, or bondage of the soul in a limited body!

Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s strict adherence to all the principles of a true Vaishnava is laying out the   foundation for many generations! Every single person who comes to visit Swamiji says only one thing:   ‘Unforgettable pleasant vibrant experience!’

A temple is called an aalayam, a place which unites (layam) a soul(athma) with God. Everything you see on the walls of a temple or inside a temple are all aiming at single goal – to unite you with God. The fact is: we are never away from God. But, we have become ignorant of this fact due to arrogance. The arrogance that we are the doers, controllers and recipients of all that is going on in our lives. We don’t accept that the freedom we have is controlled and limited. This arrogance is making us more and more ignorant. Temples and Vedic literature is all aimed at relieving us from this paw of ignorance and giving us a true state of joy!

One of the elements in temples is called, Ya:li. Different types of Ya:li convey some jna:na about ourselves and the Supreme.

Ya:li is an artificial creature structured to show that ‘no matter how strong, smart, powerful, beautiful one may be, all those qualities will flourish in the right way when they are obediently submitted in the service of God’. Ya:li shows how obediently the creature stands in front of the Lord even though it embodies the valour of Lion, mightiness of elephant, dexterity of a crocodile.

These Ya:lis are being structured very beautifully for the Statue of Equality, Centres of Inspiration site. And therefore, Swamiji has taken this opportunity to help us all understand the significance of Ya:li. With details from Chief architect, Prasad Sthapathy Garu – enjoy reading, preserve the meaning in your hearts to share it with all.

A Suka Ya:li depicts that no matter how greatly skilled one may be in social and spiritual lines of wisdom, one should always seek the refuge of an acharya (one who does not identify him by anything else than a completely devoted tool in the hands of God). A parrot represents a jna:ni and a crocodile represents one who is skilled in social and spiritual aspects. Crocodile is seen to be seeking refuge of parrot…!

An Ashwa Ya:li shows that even if one is physically stout, only a jna:ni is greatly agile in leading his life well. Physically stout is seen in the elephant and the greatly agile jna:ni is represented by a horse. The form of Srimannarayana, Hayavadana is an example of how horse face indicates the fast paced jna:ni

A Simha Ya:li shows that even if one is cruel in heart and in actions, an acharya’s grace can turn one to speak soft, gentle like that of beautiful flowers. This creature shows the Lion giving out flowers from its mouth.

The temple architecture not only shows extremely delicate, intricate and highly enriching skilful artisan work but also beautifully depicts internal essence from Vedas about behavioural and spiritual aspects for any aspirant.

Every year, most of you celebrate birthdays. Even if you choose not to celebrate, your near and dear choose your birthday to show their love and gratitude for having you in their lives. So, one day for one year is considered good enough to convey that kind of wishes for your loved one, isn’t it? Now, how about for someone who gave us the best gifts anyone can give, the real wisdom about Life and the eternal truths of the Supreme!

Ramanujacharya is that one great acharya who was born 1000 years ago. So, we should celebrate his millennium birthday for at least 3 years [considering the 1 day for year that we do for ourselves], right? The celebrations started in 2017, we are entering the third year of celebration!

Let’s take deeper dive at the wisdom he shared and continue to make everyone we know a part of the celebration.

– From Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji
– Continued Millennium Birth Year Celebrations of Ramanujacharya!

Building great structures of unique attributes is not technologically extra-ordinary effort these days. However, what is the purpose of that uniqueness? How are YOU connected to that uniqueness?

Take any wonder of the world and ask yourselves the following questions!

[su_list icon=”icon: caret-square-o-right”] Does the uniqueness of the structure enrich the experience of a sensory organ?

Does the uniqueness of the structure enrich the experience of you, the soul?

Does that enrichment benefit the soul alone?

Adding beauty architecturally is a huge add-on. It can be seen in the way the chariots are being designed at the entrance of the site. There will be two chariots designed in the style of Hampi(the place where God graces in the form of Sri Vijaya Vittala). However, the wheels for these chariots are being designed with that of Sri Sarangapani’s temple at Kumbhakonam. Also, while the original structure of that chariot does not have any elephant as part of it, a 10 feet high elephant is a creation of architects at the current site!

Statue of Equality is a monument which is being constructed in Bharath(India) for promoting Peace and Equality across the world. This monument has also inspired many lives in London, UK. Our JETUK and VTSUK volunteers have taken up the challenge to bring awareness of the monument the next level. Keeping this in mind our JETUK Trustee Sriman Ranjith Kumar Srirangam has taken up the challenge of “Promotion and Awareness” campaign for the monument. He abseiled from a height of 305 feet chanting Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha and spoke about the project to the people around there.

In his own words:

The benefits of following the lead of a great personality can only be experienced. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji is the most erudite, practical and compassionate person of modern times. While not compromising on the authenticity, Swamiji excels in the way he can explain the most complex concept to the untutored individual. That is possible only because Swamiji believes that all of us irrespective of the level of intelligence are all equal in the eyes of God. How can all of us enjoy that equality? This structure will help generations understand it, experience it and feel privileged. Let us follow His lead and be part of the noble mission.

We depend on each one of you for meeting the costs involved. It is your chance to be part of it. Please don’t waste a moment, share the news with friends and family, and support us in establishing the foundation of true equality!
